Job Summary This position will provide administrative support to the College of Agriculture and Agricultural Experiment Station on financial matters, internal and external grants, extramural projects and the A-21 cost accounting standards obligations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advising faculty and administration on procedures and approve contract and grant related documents to ensure proper and timely accounting and contractual agreements; serve as liaison between departmental and central offices to ensure proper submission of proposals and ensure compliance with university and sponsor guidelines and cost accounting standards; serve as the primary point of contact for all pre-award grant activity in the college and submit grants on behalf of the college; promote and coordinate grant opportunities, workshops, and training for faculty; provides customer service to faculty, staff, administration, and sponsors on all pre-award activity; provide periodic contract and grant reports; prepare extramural cover forms; maintain data for funded projects and activities; provide financial information and guidance to faculty and staff as needed; coordinate pool of "grant writers" to assist faculty with preparation of extramural grant proposals to agencies such as DOD, NSF, NIH, USAID, and NIFA as well as companies and NGO's; support the Associate Dean for Research in providing grantsmanship and research-related trainings to faculty, staff and students and in team building efforts; assist with space inventory and facilities management; and perform other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Business, Management, Finance, or a closely relevant field; 2 years of experience in the management of contracts and grants along with knowledge of computers and software programs.

When a candidate has the required experience in the management of contracts and grants, but lacks the required education, they may apply additional relevant experience in the management of contracts and grants toward the education requirement, at a rate of two (2) years relevant experience per year of required education. Employer will also consider advanced relevant degrees in lieu of experience.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated technical excellence and ability to work both independently and in a team environment are also required. Candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the U.S. by the employment date and continue to work legally for the proposed term of employment.
